How this calculation works
The start and expected last day are counted inclusively. An as-of date before notice shows zero completed; a date after the expected last day shows the period as complete.
Calculation methodology
This calculator measures calendar progress between dates you already know. It does not recalculate the expected end from contract rules, so derive or confirm that date first.
WorkExitPlan calculates from the rules you select. It does not guess your employer's notice policy.
Worked examples
Halfway through a 30-day period
For notice from 1 September through 30 September 2026, an as-of date of 15 September reports 15 days completed, 15 remaining and 50% progress.
Before notice starts
For the same notice period, an as-of date of 30 August reports zero completed and 30 remaining.
Why the employer date may differ
- HR may later revise the expected last working day.
- A leave or notice-waiver decision can change the agreed period.
- This progress view counts calendar dates and does not infer working-day rules.
