How this calculation works
Only weekdays selected in the working-week control count toward notice. Entered company holidays are skipped, so the result also shows the wider calendar span occupied by the required working days.
Calculation methodology
Notice starts on the selected same day or next day. The engine moves forward one calendar date at a time and counts only eligible working dates until the contractual total is reached.
WorkExitPlan calculates from the rules you select. It does not guess your employer's notice policy.
Worked examples
30 Monday-Friday working days
With notice starting Wednesday, 2 September 2026 and no excluded holidays, 30 working days ends Tuesday, 13 October 2026. The 30 counted days span 42 calendar dates.
Six days in a Monday-Saturday workplace
Resign Friday, 2 January 2026 and start notice the next day. With Monday through Saturday selected, six working days ends Friday, 9 January 2026.
Why the employer date may differ
- The employer workweek may include Saturday, exclude another weekday or follow shifts.
- Company holidays count only when they are entered as excluded dates.
- Leave treatment and non-working end-date rules may be handled differently by policy.
